How ABFRL Employees Are Prioritising Health, One Habit at a Time

by ABFRLadmin | April 14, 2025

World Health Day may be over, but the journey to better health is an everyday commitment. At ABFRL, wellness isn’t just a calendar event – it’s part of who we are. From morning routines to mindset shifts, our employees continue to make small, powerful changes in their lives. In this special follow-up, we bring you real stories from across our teams – honest, inspiring, and uniquely personal.

Let’s take a look at how our colleagues are redefining health, one habit at a time.

If You Had to Describe Your Current Health in One Word, What Would It Be?

Our team came through with answers that were full of personality and self-awareness:

From “resilient” to “recovering,” our team’s responses spanned every part of the spectrum.

Some people felt at their peak—disciplined, energetic, laser-focused. Others were honest about feeling “average” or “in transition.” Many admitted that while their physical health could use some attention, their mental health was thriving, or vice versa.

That’s the beauty of this journey—there’s no “perfect,” only personal. Everyone is working on something, and that’s what growth looks like.

Health is a journey, and our people reminded us that there’s no wrong place to begin—as long as you keep going.

What’s One Small Habit That Makes You Feel Healthier Every Day?

Sometimes, it’s the tiniest changes that make the biggest impact. Here’s what keeps our team feeling good:

• “I start my mornings with 30 minutes of movement—either yoga, stretching, or a walk—and then sit down to meditate. It sets the tone for my entire day,” said Apoorv Chandrawanshi, General Manager SCM Planning, Pantaloons.

• Ravi Shah, Group Manager Operations from Pantaloons focuses on drinking ample of water daily. To achieve the goal of drinking sufficient water every day, you can carry a bottle everywhere—it’s simple but it’ll make you feel more energized and clear-headed.

• “Listening to music while working out keeps me motivated and turns a chore into a jam session,” confessed Srikanth Madarapu, Digital Business Analyst, ABFRL.

• “I wake up early just to enjoy 10 minutes of silence before the chaos begins. That peaceful moment is everything,” said Sangeeta Mistry, Assistant Manager, Visual Merchandising, Madura Fashion and Lifestyle.

• Spending time with his daughter brings Lalit Kumar, our store manager, Madura Fashion and Lifestyle, calm and joy. That’s a big part of his emotional wellness.

Whether it’s movement, mindfulness, or meaningful connections, it’s clear: health starts with how we feel– not just how we look.

What’s Your Go-To Healthy Snack?

Snacking doesn’t have to derail your wellness. In fact, for many of us, it’s the bridge that keeps our energy (and willpower!) intact between meals.

Here’s what fuels our teammates:

• Masala makhana – Crunchy, spicy, and surprisingly high in protein.
• Figs and dry fruits – They’re sweet, satisfying, and packed with nutrients.
• Salted peanuts – A balance of taste and energy boost.
• Just water – Yes, you read that right. One colleague said, “Sometimes, when I feel snacky, I drink water first. Most times, I realize that’s all I needed!”

Whether it’s plant-based, protein-rich, or hydration-focused, the goal is the same: eat with intention, not impulse.

What’s Your Favorite Way to Relax After a Long Day?

Turns out, we’ve all got our own secret rituals to switch off from ‘work mode’:

• A hot shower followed by reading for 30 minutes—No screens, just a good book and silence.

• Tech exploration and music—Learning about new gadgets while vibing to good music makes for a happy place.

• Solo walks or quiet time alone—For introverts, the recharge time is sacred.

• And let’s not underestimate the power of a good nap. Sometimes, the best self-care is catching up on sleep guilt-free.

The common thread? Relaxation isn’t indulgent—it’s essential. It’s how we restore ourselves for the next day’s grind.

How Many Hours of Sleep Do You Actually Get?

Sleep—everyone talks about it, but few of us get enough. Our team shared their realities:

Let’s just say… it’s a mixed bag.

• 4–5 hours: Hustling hard, but looking to improve
• 6 hours: Doing okay, but still dreaming of more
• 7–8 hours: Living the well-rested dream!

Bottom line? Sleep isn’t a luxury—it’s a health essential. And we’re all figuring out how to give it the attention it deserves.

What’s Your Health Goal Right Now?

We wrapped up with a powerful question: What are you working toward? Here’s what our team is striving for—and it’s nothing short of inspiring:

• Lose 15 kg and find happiness in the process
• Build strength and gain healthy weight
• Get 8 hours of sleep consistently (and guilt-free!)
• Balance work, wellness, and everything in between
• Simply feel more energetic and vibrant every day

Each goal is a promise to ourselves—and that’s where real transformation begins.

Moving forward

Our people remind us that wellness doesn’t have to be overwhelming — it’s about making intentional choices that add up over time. Whether it’s daily yoga, mindful eating, or simply taking that much-needed break, every step matters.

Let’s carry this spirit forward — not just on Health Day, but every day. Because when we take care of ourselves, we bring our best selves to everything we do.
