Super Coach, cricketing enthusiast and Suits and Blazers Expert, Vinoth MS, Store Manager at Peter England store, Brookefields Mall, Coimbatore tells us about how ABRFL creates an environment to learn something new every day.
Can you describe your journey in ABFRL?
I joined the Organization in October 2010 as a Store Manager in Brookefields Mall, Coimbatore. The store has consistently been delivering good performance since its opening. We have developed deep and strong customer relationships over the last few years. Being a franchisee store, it is a huge responsibility for me to deliver expected business so that both the Company and the Franchisee (R Marx from GK Garments) are happy with the performance. I enjoy working at ABFRL and feel lucky to be surrounded by people who work with dedication, joy and passion.
Can you explain more about how you became a Super Coach?
I completed a Super Store Coach (SSC) Training Program from the Aditya Birla Centre of Retail Excellence (ABCRE). The training, along with my 9+ year journey at ABFRL, helped me to become a Super Coach.
Apart from the skills required to manage customer and Franchisee expectations, the training also helped me develop my skills and gave me an opportunity to use them effectively.
You have been ranked as a high-performer consistently, what is your recipe for success?
Work ethics, people management and strong problem-solving techniques have been my key recipes for success. I have focused a lot on hiring, training and motivating employees, and assigning individual responsibilities. This has helped me create a strong store team that is ready to take on any challenges at work. My other focus areas include deep-diving into customer demand and priorities, and taking necessary actions to deliver delighted customer service.
Who is your role model and why?
I am an avid Cricket follower and I admire the way in which Mahendra Singh Dhoni handles difficult and stressful situations with his cool and composed attitude. I try to use the same technique at work from time-to-time.
What is the one thing that you love most about your job?
There are many things I love about my job as it offers me a world of opportunities. I mainly enjoy training my peers and team members: being a Super Coach gives me an opportunity to help them in their learning and development. According to you, how is ABFRL different from its peers? The basic elements of a good business come from good management. ABFRL has one of the best management teams in the Industry. Leaders here encourage junior talent in every way possible: they look for ways to match their employees’ skills and passion with Organization’s needs and help advance careers by promoting their strengths. ABFRL also invests a lot in training the workforce to identify opportunities and work on their strengths.
How do you strike a work-life balance?
I think this is an art and comes with lots of practice. I believe I am able to have a good work-life balance, which helps me perform better professionally as well. Playing cricket is something I like to do beyond work, so I definitely make some time for it in the week.

Vinoth is one of the most experienced Store Managers in our Peter England family. While he is a Super Coach for the region, he also believes in sharing best practices of his store with others so that everyone grows collectively. I remember during Diwali and EOSS (2019), he used to consistently share Wow-Bill updates from the Brookefields store with all Store Managers on a daily basis, inspiring everyone to put their best foot forward.
