2023 For the Win! A lookback at ABFRLs riveting 2022

When you reflect on certain years, all you can do is marvel at the victories; 2022 was one such year for us at ABFRL. We expanded our family by forming new alliances and got closer to our goal of becoming the ultimate fashion powerhouse. Our product lines across all our brands witnessed major growth. On the sustainability front, we made significant progress and strengthened our foothold exponentially. To top it all off, we won several awards throughout the year, which truly established 2022 as a year that did not stop giving. Before we take the new year by storm, here’s a final look at all the major happenings of 2022!

1. ABFRLs partnership with Galeries Lafayette: A coming-of-age moment for Indian luxury

ABFRL entered into a strategic partnership with Galeries Lafayette to open luxury department stores and an e-commerce platform in India. The 90,000-square-foot Mumbai flagship store and the 65,000-square-foot Delhi flagship store are expected to be operational in 2024 and 2025, respectively.

2. TMRW, an Aditya Birla Group venture, partnered with 8 Digital-First Brands

TMRW established a strong D2C portfolio across multiple sub-categories in eight brands namely Berrylush, Bewakoof, Juneberry, Natilene, Nauti Nati, Nobero, Urbano, and Veirdo. With these brands on board, it is set to cross the annual revenue rate of 1500 crores in the next 12 months.

3. Sabyasachi opened its first international store in New York

Sabyasachi, as a brand, has always been rooted in heritage and craftsmanship. The store launch acted as a major milestone for the fashion label in its journey to introduce the world to authentic Indian fashion.

4. Publishing of our Sustainability Report, a testament to our commitment to ReEarth by 2025

Our Sustainability Report 202122, Expanding Our Wingspan, details our sustainability performance and shares our approach, goals, and upcoming plans. It also highlights our unwavering focus on achieving our publicly stated sustainability goals.

5. Jaypore featured real artisans in a first-of-its-kind festive campaign, Utsav

The digital campaign was captured at UNESCOs heritage site in Gujarat and was primarily meant to celebrate the indigenous culture and craft such as Ajrakh, made by the legendary Khatri family of Kutch. It aimed to highlight the rich legacy and efforts of the craftsmen of our country.

6. Pantaloons celebrated its 25th anniversary with pomp and splendor

Pantaloons, one of Indias most preferred fast fashion destinations, was launched back in 1997 with its first store in Gariahat, Kolkata. It recently celebrated its 25th anniversary and released a brand anthem to celebrate the major milestone.

7. House of Masaba Launched LoveChild, a cosmo-wellness beauty brand

ABFRL partnered with leading designer Masaba Gupta to work towards creating a young, aspirational, and digital-led portfolio across the affordable luxury segment in the fashion, beauty, and accessory categories. Following this, House of Masaba launched LoveChild, a cosmo-wellness beauty brand that is honest, playfully vibrant, and has been made with empathy at its core.

8. ABFRL entered a strategic partnership for Reebok India

ABFRL and Authentic Brands Group signed a long-term licensing agreement that enabled ABFRL to take on Reebok operations in India. It granted them exclusive rights to distribute and sell Reebok products through wholesale, e-commerce, and Reebok-branded retail stores in India and other ASEAN countries.

9. Marigold Lane Launched in the Fusion-Ethnic Wear Segment

Launched in Autumn-Winter 21, Marigold Lane is a brand where intricate motifs meet modern silhouettes and vibrant hues come alive in unique art-inspire patterns. With 10 brand stores in Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Lucknow and Ahmedabad, this fusion ethnic wear brand is available across 90+ Pantaloons stores.

10. Designer duo Shantnu & Nikhil launched Shantnu Nikhil Cricket Club (SNCC) for the love of sport

S&N by Shantnu and Nikhils recent launch SNCC was inspired by their love for cricket. They harboured a vision to connect the sport with the promise of a lifestyle. The collection represents the alliance of modern everyday dressing with a dash of much-needed youthful fervour.

With several exciting partnerships and launches, 2022 was a landmark year for ABFRL! It has definitely set the tone for an exciting 2023, and we are looking forward to all that the year has in store for us. Here’s to moving onwards and upwards!
